DAY 14
Good evening, I am Abdullah and this is the 14th day of our blog and our topic today is about a Spanish player who is considered one of the best midfielders in the history of football. This player had a position on the field named after his jersey number. This player is Iniesta. Iniesta is a player born in Catalonia and joined Barcelona Academy (la Macia) and qualified for the first team and achieved many championships with the team, as he achieved more than 7 leagues and 4 European Champions Leagues.
He had legendary seasons and was nominated for the Golden Ball, but if it weren’t for the competition with Messi, he would have at least had one or two with him. Iniesta is nicknamed (the painter) because according to many, he used to paint an artistic painting in European stadiums as a metaphor. Iniesta has a rich history with the Spanish national team, where he won the Euro 2008 Championship
with the team and was one of the most prominent players in the Spanish national team. He won the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and was the one who made the final mark, scoring the winning goal in the last moments of the final against the Netherlands.
In this tournament, Iniesta was the most important player and number one in Spain. He also won the Euro 2012 Championship with Spain, and they defeated big teams such as Italy with a crushing 4/0 victory.
According to FIFA’s classification, Iniesta was named number 8 on the field, based on his jersey number.
